The Calm Before The Downpour

At present I am sat in my (surprisingly tidy) room looking out on a particularly dreary looking, and freezing cold, London. It is official - my first proper London winter has begun. And whilst I am a great lover of the dark winter hues and big woolly scarves, I hate giving up my summer dresses for winter!
Some of my lovely work friends from back home visited me last week, and I took a day out of hectic uni work to have coffee, lunch and a spot of window shopping. We had such a nice day, and they gave me a great idea - instead of giving up my summer dresses, why not just layer?
I know it sounds really obvious, but it's not something I ever really considered before, and I love the result. It makes me feel a little like a primary school version of myself, but it's such a cute look and it's a way of making sure I don't only get to wear my favourite summer dress once a year when the weather permits!

The shoes I'm wearing are a pretty recent discovery, they're called Flossy's and they are ridiculously comfy! Even the canvas outer layer is lightly padded, which makes such a difference to normal plimsoll style shoes which I find can rub and cause painful blisters. I know I will be living in these, particularly in the summer with shorts and maxi skirts.

Please pardon my bobbly tights! A restock is well overdue!

Shoes - Flossys (c/o)
