The Oily Girl's Guide To Skincare

I've been toying with the idea of writing this post for a while now. I wanted to give these products a fair trial before I gave my opinion, but I also am aware of the fact I am not a qualified skin...person, and these types of products are so specific to an individual's skin type that I can't speak for everyone. As such, here is my 'skin story': About a year and a half ago, I had skin so dry that my cheeks would form dark, dry patches which looked dirty if I didn't mouisturise on a daily basis. Then I moved to London, and due to the pollution my skin became really oily and shiny. Since then I have moved out of London (albeit only into a smaller city), yet my skin has never fully recovered.

I have tried so many different skincare regimes since, and this mix and match combo by the Bodyshop is definitely my favourite. The Seaweed cleanser and toner leave my skin feeling really clean, fresh and free from oil and are products I actually look forward to using at the end of a hard days work when all I want to do is get my makeup off my face. They aren't the greatest at removing makeup so I usually use my Garnier Micellar water all over my face first so that the Seaweed Cleanser can just do it's thang. What's more, all you need are a few cotton pads - no annoying treks to the bathroom sink. Lastly I apply the Vitamin E mouisturiser, which I ADORE and is easily my favourite mouisturiser, ever. It is a cooling formula which is comlpletely not greasey, smells so fresh and is good for pollution damaged skin because of the vitamin E.

As I said, I am no expert in this region and I know how difficult it is to find something which works both for your skin type and your circumstances, but if you too suffer from oily skin I would highly recommend taking a trip to the Bodyshop and asking for samples of these products, or for the advice of their staff - the ladies at my local store are so friendly and well informed and helped me to hand pick the right routine for me and I am delighted with the results.
