My Summer Skincare Routine

Before all else I want to apologise for the lack of blogging occuring over the past month. A combination of a camera malfunction and still having a relatively new job have meant things have been a little bit nuts, but I'm back and I'm planning better content than ever before!!!

Come this time of year I like to switch things up skincare wise - particularly during these balmy heat spells we are having at the moment in the UK. For me personally, I want something super hydrating but not heavy or creamy for my normal to oily skin, so these are the steps I have been following...

1) Botanics Micellar 3 in 1 All Bright Cleansing Solution, available at Boots - In the summer I like to switch up cleansing balms/creams for lighter and quicker to use options. Micellar solutions are perfect for this and are easier than using anything that requires getting up and going to the sink (yes, I really am that lazy most nights). Quite honestly I only bought this one as the Garnier Micellar water was sold out at my local Boots, although I haven't noticed a huge amount of difference between the two other than this one having a slight chemical smell to it. That said, if you don't mind the smell it's a good slightly cheaper alternative to the Garnier one.

2) Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic Spritzer - I spritz this onto a cotton pad and gently wipe my face with this product to use it as a toner, although it is lovely to use spritzed from the bottle directly onto the face for instant cooling throughout the day aswell. It contains skin calming aloe vera and vitamin e - something I have used religiously since moving out of London to repair my pollution damaged skin. Thankfully that's not something I suffer with now, but I still worship vitamin e and it's skin protecting properties to this day!!

3) Bodyshop Vitamin E Aqua Boost Sorbet - more vitamin e... I am countless tubs into my love affair with this product. I refuse to use anything else in the summer (and I wear it most of the winter too). I am straight up OBSESSED. This almost gel-like formula feels so cooling and so light and doesn't make me feel cloggy with makeup over the top. Bodyshop, if you're reading this: NEVER discontinue this product, PLEASE.

4) Vitamin E Overnight Serum- in-Oil - even more vitamin e... Oil? In the summer? On oily skin? Yes, really. I love using this a couple of times a week, it really revitalises my skin and locks in moisture, even giving me the confidence to go foundation free. I wake up and notice such a difference, my skin looks so glowy and alive when I use this. As far as facial oils go, this one isn't too expensive either at around the £13 mark. Ps sorry the bottle looks gammy, I have had this one quite a while because it lasts aaaages.
