French Beauty Haul

When on holiday I can't resist having a snoop around for beauty products that catch my eye that we don't have in the UK (or are cheaper abroad!) so I thought I'd share the little stash I brought back from France. Also, good news - almost all of it can be bought in the UK too!

Bourgois Rouge Edition Velvet in 03 Hot Pepper - Everyone and their mother have been raving about these liquid lipsticks and I just never got round to trying them, so when I saw this gorgeous red in the supermarket of all places, I thought I'd give it a go. I'm looooving a bright red lip at the moment and this is by miles my favourite. So highly pigmented, matte, long lasting AND non drying. They might cost a little more than other drug store alternatives but these are so worth it *adds all the other shades in range to basket*.

Yves Saint Laurent Opium Vapeurs de Parfum - Oh my goodness, I don't understand how I haven't heard other people raving about this before. If I had to describe my three favourite scent types it would be fresh, spicy and smokey, and this somehow encompasses all three. I think it smells really unusual in the best way and it wears so well on my skin - often scents don't and they tend to go a bit too sweet on my which I really dislike.

Bioderma  Micellaire Water - I've been using the Garnier alternative for ages now, so I thought I'd give this one a go, especially as it is cheaper in France than in the UK. I love using micellar waters to get the most part of my makeup off before I do a proper cleanse with my Cleanse & Polish from Liz Earle.

** I really wanted to do a proper French Pharmacy haul type of thing but I really struggled when I got in there as all the packaging looks exactly the same and I got a little overwhelmed, so sadly I didn't get loads of the things I was hoping for. So, big recommendation - if you want skincare products from the French Pharmacies, find out the french names and write a list! There are always staff about to help and it will be so much easier to pass them a list than to stutter what you think you want in broken French! **

Garnier Ultra Doux Masque a la Mangue et Fleur de Tiare - Firstly how fabulous is the name of this product?? I've been picking up this mango hair mask for years every time I head across the channel. I love Garnier hair masks in general but this one in particular leaves my hair silky soft and smelling like a balmy tropical evening. What's more, it costs less than 5 euro...!

Ushuaia Vanille & Beurre de Jojoba Baume de Douche - Lastly, perhaps a bit of a strange one - shower gel. I picked this one up because I used the matching deodorant a couple of years back and fell in love with the smell (weird to fall in love with a deodorant smell, I know) so this went straight in the basket when I saw it. I'm not a huge lover of vanilla at all, but this has a buttery and fresh twist which smells yummy when it lingers on the skin long after a shower.
