Tropic Skincare Haul and First Impressions

Until fairly recently I had never heard of skincare and cosmetics brand Tropic but since being introduced to the range by my local Ambassador it seems to be everywhere! The toxin free, paraben free range has an ethos that is all about using ethically sourced, natural ingredients and scrapping the chemical preservative and bulking agents found so often in our makeup nowadays.
Last week I met the founder - Susan Ma - when she gave a talk on the brand as part of the Tropic Roadshow and I was so blown away by the brand values and the quality of the products that I got my order in straight away! It seemed like the perfect time to try some new bits and pieces as I've been having terrible hormonal breakouts on my chin recently and a few dry patches. Keep reading to see what I've got and my first impressions...

Smoothing Cleanser - Cloth cleansers are definitely my favourites - I don't feel like anything else truly gets the grime out after a long day. This one is made with avocado oils which makes it super soft on the skin and smells of invigorating ginger. Creamy in texture this one of the only cleansers I have used that doesn't feel like it's drying my face out. I've been using this on my face for the last week and, so far so good. I will of course report back a bit longer along the line as to how I'm getting along with this and whether I will be repurchasing.

Bamboo Cloth - With every cleanser purchase you receive a bamboo cloth but I would recommend doing as I did and ordering two so you can rotate them when they need a wash. Made entirely of bamboo these are surprisingly soft and have antibacterial properties so they don't get stinky or hold onto grime in the same way a cotton/synthetic fibre cloth would.

Face Smooth - Having read India Knight's column in Style Magazine about the not so great skin thinning properties of chemical exfoliating products (and having fallen in love with everything about Tropic's Face Smooth) I decided to add the Face Smooth to my basket. This smells zesty, buffs away dead skin like a dream and leaves my face feeling so silky - the perfect mid-week skin pick-me-up when you're feeling somewhat less than radiant!

Sculpting Palette in Vintage Rose - I had to buy this product as I was blown away by how well pigmented it is and how flattering the colours were on my pale skin tone. I believe this colourway is actually made for those with more olive toned skin but the rose-y peach-y blush teamed with the champagne golden highlight are so warming on pale skin, whilst the cool toned contour shade is perfect swept lightly under the cheekbones. I'm so impressed by the quality of this all natural product and can't wait to use it in the summer as well for a bronze beach babe look.
