My Travel Makeup Bag: Weekend City Break Edit

I thought I might start doing a series of beauty posts in this 'Edit' style so you guys can have a sneak peek into what I'm loving and my recommendations in a brief roundup. This weekend I am off to Berlin and I can't wait! I only want to bring a small bag with me so whittling down my beauty stash was essential but I'm pretty pleased with this little lot. I've gone for Spring, pinky vibes and products that are going to take me from day to night. Note: I did forget to throw a mascara into the photo but, as per usual, I will be using my Maybelline Lash Sensational.

Read on to find out why these are my picks!

Benefit Brow Zings Eyebrow Shaping Kit in Light - This one is a no brainer as I rarely use anything else (apart from a sweep of Benefit Gimme Brow over the top for nights out). A kit like this with the brushes and a mirror inside is ideal for travel and I find the cool toned dirty blonde shade perfect for my hair colour.

L'Oreal Paris Infallible Sculpt Foundation (German packaging hence different name!) - This is a new one to my stash but I am really impressed with it. For the last couple of months I have been on the hunt for a new foundation but every single one I have tried has been too shiny, too matte or too heavy on the skin. This feels light, has a medium coverage and AT LAST is a good colour match. I especially like that this is buildable so I can wear a thin layer in the day but still have stronger coverage for the evening.

Jo Malone Cologne in Mimosa and Cardamom - This is sweeter than I usually go for with perfume but the spiciness of it and fresh undertone has me HOOKED. The scent is unusual and magnetic and in the 40ml bottle this is the perfect chuck-in-your-back-and-go size.

Stila Color Balm Lipstick in Avery - I do love me a multi purpose product and this minty lil' pop of colour is pigmented like a lipstick whilst mouisturing like a balm. This shade is fresh and pretty for the daytime and patted on subtly works just as well with a winged liner or smoky brown eye when I want to jhuzz things up a bit.

Maybelline Fit Me Concealer - Not the best heavy duty concealer but applied lightly this stuff is gorgeous for the under eyes, giving a bright, slightly dewy finish.

L'Oreal Superliner - A liquid liner will take my look from day to night without the faff of having to carry an eyeshadow palette and a multitude of brushes. I prefer a wetter, more pigmented liquid liner if I'm honest but my all time favourite 2True liner has run out on me and this one is quite good for precision.

Tropic Palette in Vintage Rose - A contour palette such as this one is essential for me when I'm on the go as it has my bronzer, blush and highlight in one piece of packaging as well as a decent sized mirror. This one is my go-to at the minute for a warm, bronzed look.

What are your weekend away essentials?
