Hat & Blazer

Mid April I flew back to the UK for a couple of weeks to see friends and family and, amidst the panic the night before, I realised it might be handy to do a couple of outfit posts with ideas for what to wear for flying. Even if nobody else is interested, it would certainly be useful for me to reference when I'm in packing meltdown and checking my flight time 50 times over ahead of a journey (nervous traveller right here). So this week is going to be all about travel over here on the blog, with a few tips and tricks I have learnt as a frequent solo flyer along the way thrown in.

This blazer from the Archive by Alexa collection hit my basket the second the collection went live online. I'm really not usually much of a blazer person but this one had such an Alexa vibe and I thought it would be the perfect piece to smarten up a jeans and jumper combo. The rest of the outfit I have kept simple and comfy, then gone for cowboy boots as they are bang on trend and add a little bit of height.

I think they real key to a keeping a laid back look like this still feeling smart is all in the accessories. A trilby and some Dior inspired sunnies make me feel much more chic when I'm looking sleepy, and a couple of understated pieces of jewellery give a pulled together vibe. The gold face watch with navy strap is by Elie Beaumont and I think it's an absolute classic - I can't wait to team it with a nautical ensemble to really set off the colour combo. I've also mixed my metals a little with my favourite every day rings from Adrienne Wroath, and this gorgeous dinky bracelet from Petit Trésors which is handmade in Lyon, France and has a weency little 'Ella Olivia' carved into it!

Do let me know if you have any tips for airport dressing,
Ella x
