All The Fun of the Fair

Where I come from we have one small fair that visits town once a year and hosts a waltzer, a bouncy slide and not much else, so when the fair was coming to town in Karlsruhe I was like an excitable three year old, relentlessly asking Paul if we could go NOW until he gave in. We picked a sunny day and headed on over to enjoy all the fun of the fair.

I went for a casual and comfy getup in a striped tee shirt dress (melting in the scuba fabric), my favourite Vans Sk8 Hi trainers in all white and my trusty army green shirt, which I have come to find is the perfect alternative to a lightweight jacket.

Bellies rumbling we grabbed what I believe is a traditional Hungarian food called langos, which is essentially a huge brick of deep fat fried donut. You'll see these at all the German Christmas markets; which is where I tried this first. Zimt & zucker (cinammon & sugar) is my fave, but these come with loads of options for toppings, including garlic sauce with cheese - strangely popular.

As you can probs tell from my face I was enjoying mine.

Before long darkness set in and the fair truly came to life.

Beer and cookies? I'm in.

Afterall, sometimes it's fun just to run around like a big kid again.
