Avant Ski

This January has been slower than the last week of term before summer holidays when I was a kid. It's no wonder then that this trip, which feels like 3 months ago, was more like 3 weeks ago. In southern Germany it seems no matter where you are, in the winter you are only a mere 40 minute train ride from city into the mountains, so when we visited around new years, I decided to give the slopes another shot and see if I could finally become at one with the piste.

We set off super early and arrived in a misty, eerie fog, before the place was even open; such was my appetite to finally get over my fear of that Bridget Jones moment. I am pleased to say, other than almost ploughing into an entire class of the local snow school, and despite falling over more times than I care to admit, I think I finally got why people go skiing.
In a bid to break up the bleakness of an English winter, some friends & I have booked a last minute ski break to Germany and this evening we set off in search of snow, skiing & spatzle. It wasn't until earlier this week I realised I hadn't yet uploaded my pictures from the last trip - so here are a few to summarise the day as a little amuse bouche ahead of next week's trip diary. Enjoy!

  1. THE SKI FEELS <3 That snow looks incredible!! I'm super jealous, I can't wait to get back on the snow, it's one of my favourite places to be! From the photo, your resort looks lovely too, I can't wait to read your diary about it.

    All the love,
